The last blog post I made was on my blogspot space back on October 2006. "Mike's Moot Musings" was/is the name. Ah, yes, those were the days/years. At that time I was working a job where I was left alone in my cubicle to code away exploring the new .Net Compact Framework, handheld devices, barcode scanners, and at a deeper level, disecting and repairing GSM sound files. Sure, there were a few extra-curricular projects mixed in there as well; game log parsers, etc.
But, good things come to and end. The company didn't seem to be doing well (Yeah, if a developer is left to do what he wants, there is obviously something wrong) and there was talk of a sale. Several developers jumped ship and I followed suit. I felt it was better to be pro- than re-active.
The next 5 years was spent in a technical vacuum, implementing someone else's framework with fill-in-the-blank development. There is SO much more to gripe about, but I'll save the tasty tidbits for a time when I have little else to say. I will say this; many bits are The Daily WTF-worthy.
Moving on....
I'm back where my real IT carreer started and I'm happy. Now I need to get caught up on all the things I missed over the last 5 years. This blog will be about that journey.
